Dr. Nicola Hesketh–ORAL SURGERY, CLEVELEYS

Nicola is our tier 2 oral surgeon and DCT supervisor and brings a wealth of surgical experience  following a varied career, rich in international collaboration.

Nicola graduated with First Class Honours from University of Wales College of Medicine in 2008. At University she spent time at Kaunas Medical University as part of the erasmus program. She developed an interest in oral surgery early in her career when she took part in a charity expedition to the Peruvian Andees where she had to extract hundreds of teeth out of the back of a land rover.

She served in the Royal Army Dental Corps between 2012 and 2105 where she commanded the dental department of a very high readiness field hospital and took part in an exchange program with the Royal Brunei Armed Forces.

Nicola consolidated her Oral Surgery experience with an MSc in oral surgery from UCLan, from which she graduated with distinction in 2021. Since then she has provided Tier 2 Oral Surgery across the region. She has been involved in supervising oral surgery for the 2 year DCT program since 2022. She is experienced in IV sedation and is an accredited IV sedation supervisor. She is qualified in CBCT interpretation.

She lives in Lancashire with her husband, four year old twin girls and two muddy dogs. On the rare occasion she gets free time she enjoys rock climbing, bouldering and mountaineering.
